MEDIATION WEEK
VCDS and the ADR Section of the Ventura County Bar Association Celebrated “CALIFORNIA MEDIATION WEEK"

California Mediation Week was established many years ago to recognize the continuing contribution of mediators and the mediation process in reducing the case load of the Courts and providing litigants with a potential means for a prompt and cost effective resolution of their disputes.
The State Bar Board of Governors “commends” the efforts of all those who make mediation and mediation programs available to citizens of California, and encourages the local bar associations to recognize those individuals and publicize local mediation programs during Mediation Week.”
The Ventura Center for Dispute Settlement and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the Ventura County Bar Association held a banquet dinner to celebrate Mediation Week on March 21, 2010 at the Sterling Hills Golf Club in Camarillo. Judge Joe Hadden (retired) was honored as the 2009 ADR Practitioner of the Year and the Ventura County Bar Association as the 2009 ADR Advocate of the Year for their outstanding contributions in ADR. Also, Judi Dolan received our Volunteer Extraordinaire Award for her 800+ volunteer hours and participation in VCDS’ numerous programs. Attorney Alan Weiner with the Office of the General Counsel, Judicial Council of California, Administrative Office of the Courts presented a Standing Resolution declaring the third week in March as Mediation Week.
